Raising awareness and funds to support volunteers providing care for Australian wildlife in distress

Aurora Wildlife Care raises funds to support volunteer rescuers and carers provide excellence in rescue, rehabilitation and ongoing treatment of wildlife with the ultimate goal to release our native animals back into the wild.

Raising awareness and understanding of the impact that humans have on wildlife is also high on our agenda. We want to engage in activities that will inform and educate our members and members of the public.

Aurora Wildlife Care is an incorporated association and a registered charity that was founded at its Inaugural General Meeting held in Glen Innes on 20 October 2019. At our core are a dedicated group of people who have spent many years caring for sick, injured and orphaned Australian Wildlife.
Our members are spread across the northern part of NSW in towns, villages and living on the land. We have a broad range of backgrounds and skills which brings strength to our group and what we can achieve. We aspire to be a friendly, caring and collegial group that aims to:

  • provide support for carers in their efforts to care for Australian wildlife.
  • support quality rescue, rehabilitation and care for injured and orphaned wildlife.
  • educate our local communities and promote respect for our unique wildlife.
  • raise funds to support appropriate rescue, rehabilitation and release of our native wildlife.
  • broaden public understanding about Australian flora and fauna
    be responsible for our Australian native wildlife and to our membership supporting best possible practice in our duties.
  • provide up-to-date training for our members and community to raise awareness about our wildlife and the positive role animals play in our environment and in our lives.
